BUDDHA JAYANTI PDF Print E-mail

Lord Buddha the Apostle of peace was born 2500 years before (543 BC) at Lumbini in Nepal on the full moon day of Baisakh (May), which is called Baisakh Purmnima or the Chandi Purnima as well. Nepal Government also offers Government Holiday on this day. He was the son of Shakya dynasty’s King Sudhodhan who was from Patliputra of India. His mother was from Kapilbastu Nepal. Once, while Mrs Maya Devi was on the way of her severe pregnancy’s pang at Lumbini (presently Nepal), she ordered her charioteer to stop the chariot and immediately a child was born out of her womb. The moment of the birth child started to stride seven steps in all the four longitude and latitude directions, north, south, east and west.

Prophets named him Sidhartha and conjectured that either this child will become a renowned sage or a famous King. Truly as per the Prophet’s prophesy he became the great Philanthropist sage; and later he called “lord Buddha” by all in the world.

One day while he proceeded to visit out of his palace he saw a stooped old man walking with a stick on his hand. On looking to that old man became very much stunned and seriously thought that why should we human being become an old? On the next day of his visit he saw a sick man struggling in pain with his disease on the way again he became very much sad; and thought that why should a man become sick in such a struggling way? On the next day when he proceeded to visit out, he saw a dead man’s funeral procession marching towards the grave and some of the people crying behind them. Buddha was very  much anguished again and thought that, why should a man die and his relatives cry in worry? Again on his fourth visit, he saw a poor beggar begging alms and Budha was afflicted again much with that man’s miserable condition; then thought that, why should a man become poor?

These were the four things that made Buddha very unhappy and he thought that, why human being’s live has fallen in such a troublesome way? He thought seriously to release human beings out of these all miseries and went out his palace in a sage’s guise towards the forest for devotional prayer. He renounced all of his regal life, Prince’s title and traveled out leaving his palace one day at the age of his 29, in search of happiness for all human being of the world.

He did many meditations and prayers for several days to the God to relieve people out of these tragedies but he couldn’t get any result out of his devotion. One day he decided to do many day’s hunger fasting and meditation and prayer sitting beneath a Peeple three at Kushi Nagar India. His whole body was deteriorating badly because of not eating anything several days but again there was no any answer from the God. When he was nearly to die be broke his fasting and thought of some of his doctrines for the welfare of the people to make this earth as a heaven which doctrines were as follows:

  1. Not to speak the untrue.
  2. Not to think vice inside the mind
  3. Not to sadden any one.
  4. Not to take any intoxicating items.
  5. Not to do greed.
  6. Not to do violence on any creature.
  7. Not to eat flesh of it’s any kind.

These are the main sermons and benedictions taught by Buddha to this world. Also there are many of his other morals written in his Buddha Scripture. Also in fact, if we are many of his doctrines, this earth will naturally become enlightenment. These are some of the teachings left by Buddha to this world.

After narrating his enlightenments to his disciples, on the same day of his birth he reached for his heavenly abode.

Later his teachings became very popular throughout the world and the world revered him as a God; then he was called Lord Buddha by all.

He was a prince and there was no need to leave him  his palace’s regal life but he left all of his lavish life of palace for search of human welfare. So the world has been revering him a lot as a lord in this earth forever.  Also these days he is entitled by all the Apostle of peace and star of Asia.
