Lord Buddha the Apostle of peace was born 2500 years before (543 BC) at Lumbini in Nepal on the full moon day of Baisakh (May), which is called Baisakh Purmnima or the Chandi Purnima as well. Nepal Government also offers Government Holiday on this day. He was the son of Shakya dynasty’s King Sudhodhan who was from Patliputra of India. His mother was from Kapilbastu Nepal. Once, while Mrs Maya Devi was on the way of her severe pregnancy’s pang at Lumbini (presently Nepal), she ordered her charioteer to stop the chariot and immediately a child was born out of her womb.
