    Boudhanath (also called Bodhnath or Baudhanath or the Khsa Caitya) is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in the area of Kathmandu, Nepal. It is known as Khsti by Newars as Bauddha or Bodh-nth by modern speakers of Nepali. It is located about 11 km (7 miles) from the centre of Kathmandu, Nepal on the northeastern outskirts of the city. Its platform is a massive mandala and it is the largest spherical stupa in Nepal.

    Lumbini is the hallowed birthplace of Siddartha Gautam, the Shakya Prince who later became the Buddha, the Enlightened One.

    Charumati Stupa was built by the prince Charumati Daughter of Emperor King Ashoka about 2300 yrs ago. It is one of the very important stupa's in Nepal, which was damaged/cracked over looked by the people of Nepal. The renovation of the stupa was started by ven. Tapassi Dhamma, later the founder of Charumati Buddhist Mission Nepal in 2001 and completed in 2002. Chabahil, one of the most important historical place in Kathmandu, Nepal is famous for its Licchavi stupa, called the Charumati Vihara. The stupa is considered by many historians to be the oldest Buddhist stupa in Kathmandu Valley. According to the inscriptions found in the stupa, the stupa was built by the famous Indian princess Charumati. According to the book, Dhanavajra Vajracharya, Licchavikalin Abhilekha, Kathmandu : Nepal Asiali Adyayan Sansthan, 2030 B.S. p-392, the stupa became an instant attraction point for pilgrims and Buddhist monks who visited the stupa for centuries. The stupa, according to most historians, dates back to the 3rd Century BC though actual dating has not been done to confirm this.
