Maruni Dance of eastern Nepal |
| This is essentially an original dance performed with a gread pomp and show in a group by the different castes or groups of people such as Darjee, Bishwakarma, Magar, Rai, Majhi, Kumal etc. Mainly who live in the Koshi region of eastern Nepal. But we can find rarly in other rigions also. They perform this dance on the special occasions of fair, feasts, worship, festivals by playing typical folk musical instruments, such as madal, flute, cymbals, mujura, binaya etc. It is traditionally believed that females should not perform this dance. Therefore, only males perform this in a disguised form wearing female dress and decorating them as females. They thus become maruni and perform the dance. this dance is based especially on the story of the pangs and agony of Sorathi Rani, a legengendary queen. |

Red Machindranath Chariot Festival (Nepal) |
| Red Machindranath Chariot Festival on the way from from Gabahal to Sundhara (Nepal). Thet festival is one of the main festivals observed by both the Buddhist and Hindu communities of Kathmandu valley. It celebrates a deity who is also known as Karunamaya, Avalokiteshwara, Loknath and Bungadeo and who is credited with saving this land from a pronged drought in ancient times. The festival occurs every year but once every twelve years the chariot of the deity is brought all the way from Bungamati some five km south of Lalitpur and taken back after the customary annual journey around this city. It climaxes with the Bhoto or vest display which is witnessed by the head of the state himself and which has a legend of its own.The Bungamati festival hopes to capitalise on the touristic interest that the festival of Machindranath evokes. |

Gai jatra 2066 on KIRTIPUR |
| The festival of "Gai Jatra", the procession of cows, is generally celebrated in the Nepalese month of Bhadra (August-September). The festival of cows is one of the most popular festivals of Nepal. The whole complex of Gai Jatra festival has its roots in the ancient age when people feared and worshipped Yamaraj,"the god of death". However, the ironical sessions synonymous with the Gai Jatra festival came into tradition in the medieval period of Nepal during the reign of Malla Kings. Hence, the present form of Gai Jatra is a happy blending of antiquity and medievalism. |

Trekking Around Annapurna Circuit trek. Responsibleadventures.com,Notjusttreks.com - LiveVideo.com |
| The Annapurna Circuit trek is called the most diverse trek in the world. The complete circuit of the Annapurna massive is an estimated 300km that begins from lush subtropical forests at below 800m in altitude. The scene changes everyday from rice paddies to pine forests to Tibet like country on the northern slopes of the Himalaya in the district of Manang. Manang was only opened to trekkers in 1977, although a few mountaineering expeditions and scientific arties had visited this region in the 1950s. After Manang the terrain turns to high altitude desert over the Thorung la pass at 5416m, down to Muktinath, Jomsom until the forested areas below Tukuche. The Kali Gandaki River on the other side of the Thorung La is considered the deepest ravine in the World, 5 times deeper than the Grand Canyon. The Kali Gandaki River cuts deeply between Mt. Dhaulagiri 8167m to the west and Mt Annapurna 8091m to the east. www.responsibleadventures.com www.notjusttreks.com, rajtamang, Business & Commercial video |
