    Send Home a Friend –
Nepal for all Seasons, a pioneer campaign, was launched by the Government of Nepal to forge partnership with the NRNs in different parts of the world and to get their support in promoting Nepal's tourism. The campaign was actively promoted in coordination with Nepal Tourism Board and the Non Resident Nepalis' Association.

The campaign was announced during the 3rd NRNA Conference in Kathmandu in October 2007. Internationally launched in London, UK, on Nov. 17, 2007, Send Home a Friend, started on Jan. 1, 2008, with the simultaneous launch of its official web site www.sendhomeafriend.com on Dec. 31, 2007. Link of the web site was put up in around 40 web sites used by NRNs worldwide. Recorded hit counts of the web site reached over 90,000 in December 2008.
In 2008, the campaign was promoted by NTB in all the programs, fairs, sales mission it participated globally. The campaign was promoted: in Helsinki, Finland, during MATKA in Jan. 20, 2008; in Berlin, Germany, on March 8, and in Antwerp, Belgium, on March 9 coinciding with the ITB, 2008; in Bangladesh during NTB's Bangladesh Sales Mission from March 13-24, 2008; in Seoul, Korea, during KOTFA on April 27, 2008; in Tokyo, Japan, during JATA on June 14, 2008; in Denmark in coordination with the Embassy of Nepal, Denmark, on June 17, 2008; in Melbourne during NTB's Australia Sales Mission from June 4-6, 2008; in Baltimore, USA, during the annual ANA (Association of Nepalis in America) Convention from July 4-6, 2008, coinciding with U.S. Sales Mission of NTB; in Bangkok, Thailand, during NTB CEO's participation at the regional NRN conference in May 2008; and in Hong Kong in coordination with the regional NRN chapter.

Collateral materials like brochures, posters, stickers, danglers were produced by NTB and distributed internationally to disseminate information. The campaign was monitored through the web site www.sendhomeafriend.com , which required the NRNs to register themselves and their friends and e-mail information about the friends' visit to NTB. On receiving the arrival dates and time NTB welcomed the NRN friends.

The campaign will run through 2009 and 2010, garnering support from the vast network of NRNs and Nepal Embassies abroad. Throughout this period NTB will provide collaterals to the international Nepali community and friends of Nepal for effective promotion of the campaign and to promote Nepal as a premier holiday destination, gearing up for the Nepal Tourism Year 2011, recently launched by the Government of Nepal.
