    Trekking Places of Eastern Nepal PDF Print E-mail

    The following are the important trekking places located in the eastern Nepal, and important and importance and detailed description of few places are given at the end.

    1.      Pashupati Nagar- Boudha – Phikal – Iyatbare – Illam – Mai Pokhari

    2.      Sanischare via Chisapani – Illam

    3.      Illam, Sankhejung, Phidim, Dorumba, Taplejung and following Tamur river – lingthung – Wolangchung and then Yagma.

    4.      Illam – Sukhepokhari – sankejung – Phidim.

    5.      Dhankuta -  Sawapati - Phidim

    6.      Biratnagar, Dharan, Dhankuta- Chainpur Khadbari – Hedangan – Chepuwa

    7.      Chainpur crossing Milkedanda – Khokling and then Taplejung.

    8.      Biratnagar, Barahehtra, Tribeni, muga, Bhojpur, Diktel, Ainsalukharak, Lukla, Namche, Khumjung or Syangboche (Everest View Hotel 3900 Mtr) or Dhami Chatra – Barah Chetra, Trebeni, Akhuwatar, Sun baluwa, Arughat Kawakhola, Pikhwas pul, Paharpani, Danda, Paiyapani and Bhojpur.

    9.      Kathmandu – Lamsangu – Jiri. Those Dolalghat Ramechap Okhaldhunga

     

    Trek Pashupati – Ilam:

    After visiting Darjeeling from Ghum one can come to Sukia Pokhari and finally pashupati of Nepal. Pasupati lies nearly on the peak and the bazaar is linearly located on the hill slope,. With wooden structured having multi coloured roofed (corrugated sheet) houses, with Nepalese Style Hotel and inns. The area always remains foggy in winter it is extremely cold. Slowly decending to nearly 2 miles comes the Baudha Stupa is found with few houses. The area is beautiful. Decending down to 2 to 4 miles north west lies the Phikhal Bazar. The bazaar has its own character. It is situated in the junction. From here one can go to Gorkhe, Sanischare as well as to Illam. Onward journey follows the crest line of hill and one can enjoy nature, no big tree is seen. Kharphok school has beautiful location and then Aitbare finally one has to decent to Jogmani Khola, where bridge is located and people have temple to worship the Mai (the Mother). Then climb starts and Illam Bazar is located on the mid way to the top. Ilamis queen of hill station and the location, the houses bazaar and dresses etc. make it more beautiful. Climbing 5 miles on hill slope, one can reach a lake called Mai Pokhari and this lake is also beautiful though small. For Illam one  can go from Biratnagar also, then one has to drive upto Birta Mod and by seasonal road to Illam it takes 4 to 5 hours drive.

    If some one wants to see nature of Illam, the smooth topography is one attraction and steep slop in Puwakhola located 2 kms in the west. Tea garden, Mai Pokhari and Phudak are attracting and bewitching.
