    Nepal is divided into 14 zones and 75 districts, grouped into 5 development regions. Each district is headed by a fixed chief district officer responsible for maintaining law and order and coordinating the work of field agencies of the various government ministries. Eight out of the ten world's highest mountains are in Nepal

     The development regions of Nepal are:

    • Central Region, Nepal
    • East Region, Nepal
    • Far West Region, Nepal
    • Midwest Region, Nepal
    • West Region, Nepal

     

    The 14 administrative zones of Nepal are subdivided into 75 districts The districts are listed below, by zone
